Lazyyyyyyyyyy to do anything, to meet ppl, to converse w ppl, to text ppl, Prob just need some quiet time alone :) Gonna start getting hectic w flag stuff And I finally got work next week for 5 days $$ I prefer to face books, computer, tv, Then to meet people which requires time to travel, effort to coordinate, brains to think abt stuff to say... Just feels bad for not treasuring her enough, and guilty for even entertaining lazy thoughts of seeking comfort at home. Stayed in the hospital ytd night to accompany grandma w dad and mum As I stayed up to ensure she doesn pluck of the drip or pull away the oxygen tube, I sudd felt thankful to be there It was as though our roles switched from the times when She will accompany me on the bed in the dark bedroom to watch tv dramas To the time in pri sch when I came home drowsy and feverish and she single handedly carried me to the doc downstairs to get me healed And unfortunately, to the time when all I did were weekly visits and kept to myself cause we are no longer able to communicate, and there she was excluded from the family's conversation cause everyone took her for granted. I sudd rmbed how the maid described the situation at home ytd In particular, the scene where my cousin did CPR on her while crying I hvnt seen him cry prob a decade ago and that's why just ...

以為隨意重看片段不會有任何感覺 但就這一個眼神、表情 就痛到...... watching the SARS documentary now and it's just bad, real bad, i can't believe how i survive through that period without any sense of urgency and i have total respect for the medics who gave their lives for the rest of singapore. not to mention, i really love how kindness was made without demands for reciprocation, clearly displaying a strong sense of unity from people all over the nation. and lastly, the above emotions were ........ my grandma just had fits and has been sent to sgh idk how to feel, i'm just worried, worried if she's in pain, worried if dad's in pain, worried if she's safe, worried if she'll pull through. i'm sure she will, i hope she will, but no matter what the case is, i simply hope that she won't be in too much pain, please

As I embark on my journey of life in the twenties, I just wanna make a reminder to myself to treat those that who matter most to me the dearest, and even before myself :) Thank you everyoneeeeeeee who accompanied me through the past 19 years, and hopefully many more years to come! Also thankful for every single person who shaped me into who I am today - parents, grandparents, friends, seniors, extended family, close buddies, and last but not least myself hehe! More than a celebration, I personally treat birthday as a day to give thanks and appreciation to my parents who raised me up with care and concern more than anyone else will get from them (of course i'm the only child hehe). So, great day with parents from ytd's trip to gardens, today's trip to SEA Aquarium, Shanghai dimsum, Rochor beancurd & hotdog, Jumbo big feast and my birthday cake hehe Hoped they enjoyed each other's company as much as I did, and may I be more sensible to treat them well :) 二十弱...

"People are only mean when they are threatened, and that's what our culture does... And when you get threatened, you start looking out only for yourself. You start making money a god. It is all part of this culture." I've often wondered why there are these antagonists in dramas that seem to posses all the evil characteristics. Like why would such people even exist in real life? I guess, this statement kinda explains it all. "Here's what I mean by building your own little sub-culture. ... The little things, I can obey. But the big things - how we think, what we value - those you must choose yourself. You can't let anyone - or any society - determine those for you. Take my condition. The things I am supposed to be embarrassed about now - not being able to walk, not being able to wipe my ass, waking up some mornings wanting to cry - there is nothing innately embarrassing or shaming about them. It's the same for women not being thin enough, or men n...

"There are lonely people in hospitals and shelters who only want some companionship. You play cards with a lonely older man and you find new respect for yourself, because you are needed." This is a moment when I realise that the desire of wanting to feel needed - really isn't anything to feel ashamed of. I once doubted and considered that doing voluntary work was probably more of helping us accomplish your sense of self-fulfillment, and less of the true desire to help and sacrifice for others. But I suddenly felt that these reasons for doing good are legitimate cannot be said to be of any wrong. There's nothing wrong in wanting to feel needed. It simply results in goodness in you, in the people you give, and ultimately the society when more and more do good. "Mitch, if you are trying to show off for people at the top, forget it. They will look down at you anyhow. And if you're trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it. They will only envy you...

"Sure, people would come visit, friends, associates, but it's not the same as having someone who will not leave... - what is called 'spiritual security'- knowing that your family will be there watching out for you. Nothing else will give you that. Not money. Not fame." This is my first book since exams ended, in fact since the first year in university ended. Glad I read it, and glad that it had been a fruitful learning experience with Mitch, Taught by Morrie :) Wasn't intending on editing the photo, but I figured I would like it to be a pleasant display of the book. And the effect was 'Rise'. :)
